Getting the Cover Shot for issue # 44 of Foreverskim Magazine

Gear- I was using a 60d and the nifty fifty (50mm 1.8)

I had been shooting with the 10-17 tokina for a week straight and wanted to mix it up.

i had the speed set for 1600 and the f Stop at 5.6

The Iso I always have set ing increments of 160, but i believe it was at 640 to accommodate the over cast for that had been pre levant for all of the 2011 summer

The day

Wedge was a good size that day. About 8-10 ft faces and I had been sitting just under the main peak. The current was horrible that day and kept sucking me out to sea. I managed to get in-between the corner bowl and the main peak and was in the process of swimming back to the peak when this photo happened. The sider swung west and the end bowl went berserk while the rider (Patrick C.) snuck under the lip. being right where the corner bowl connects, it was extremely shallow and the lip bucked out thick as I fired away. The last frame ended up making the cover and I couldn't be more stoked.
